Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about our products, supply terms and technical support. If your question is not answered here, contact us directly.
Do you supply outside Europe?
Yes. While our focus is European water infrastructure, we supply customers worldwide. We have delivered to the Middle East, Africa and beyond. Contact us with your project location and we will confirm availability and lead times.
What is WRAS approval and when do I need it?
WRAS (Water Regulations Advisory Scheme) is the UK approval scheme for fittings in contact with drinking water. It confirms a product does not contaminate potable water above permitted limits. It is required for valves installed on UK and Irish water distribution networks and is referenced in most water undertaker specifications.
What are typical lead times?
Lead times depend on the product, size and quantity. Standard stock sizes ship within 2 to 4 weeks. Larger or non-standard items are typically 6 to 10 weeks from order confirmation. We will confirm lead time with pricing on every quotation.
Do you provide material certificates and test certificates?
Yes. Material traceability documentation, pressure test certificates and compliance documentation are provided as standard with every order. Third-party inspection can be arranged on request.
What is the minimum order quantity?
There is no formal minimum order. We supply single valves for maintenance and replacement duty as well as full project schedules. Pricing reflects quantity.
Do you supply to distributors or direct to project?
Both. We work with valve distributors, merchants and hire companies as well as direct to contractors and utilities. We do not operate exclusive territory arrangements in most European markets.
What is the difference between PN10 and PN16 pressure ratings?
PN (Pression Nominale) denotes the nominal pressure class of a fitting. PN10 valves are rated to 10 bar at 20°C; PN16 valves to 16 bar. Most European water distribution networks operate well within PN10, but PN16 is commonly specified as standard to provide a safety margin and accommodate pressure transients.
What does FM Approved mean?
FM Approval is issued by FM Global, an independent testing organisation. FM Approved gate valves and butterfly valves have been tested to UL and NFPA standards for use in fire protection systems. Many insurers and sprinkler system designers require FM Approved valves as a condition of system acceptance.
Can you supply to a specific project specification or bill of materials?
Yes. Send us your specification, bill of materials or valve schedule and we will provide a line-by-line quotation with full technical compliance data. We regularly assist contractors and consultants with specification review and product equivalency submissions.
How do I know which valve size to specify?
Valve sizing depends on flow rate, allowable headloss, velocity limits and the system operating pressure. For control valves, correct sizing is critical to performance and service life. Contact us with your flow and pressure data and we will recommend the appropriate size and type.
